We are attempting to put together a history of the Club and, of course, this is always difficult. Clearly, later, more recent seasons will have more information as memories are fresher and more people have them.
If you have any documents, photos, Club Handbooks, programmes or similar then please contact us and we will try and get them from you so that we can load copies onto the site.
This site will only ever be as good as the contributions received – so please do what you can to help.
What finally prompted me to set this up – apart from retiring from the Committee and having more time – was the fact that Graham Gordon left behind his collection of Club handbooks from 1959-60 to today and Graham’s brother Gavin kindly agreed to let me have them. Then we had a few further books from George Fawcett’s widow with the net result that I believe we are missing only 4 or so from 1952-1953 to 1955-1956.
Finally, Jonathan Boreham gave me his father’s scrapbooks and so the project was incepted.
So, please help me put this together by supplying content from now on and if you have anything historical then please let me have it. This site is intended merely to augment the data available from the Club. It has a different purpose from the main Hove Rugby Club site and you should go there for news, fixtures, details of what is happening and so on. There is a link to the main site in the menu bar on each page.
