Men’s 1st XV v Hammersmith & Fulham 17/11/2007

Home – RFU Senior Vase

Report by Andy Ward

Lost 15-34

Hove met Hammersmith & Fulham in the EDF Senior Vase.

Having many injuries, Hove decided to pitch their second team in the Cup tie and to allow players to get fit for the league programme which continues next week away at Charlton Park.

Within 3 minutes things began to look ominous as H&F went over for an early try. However, Hove bounced back with two tries in the 10th and 16th minute, the latter being converted and had a 12-5 lead until the 30th minute.

H&F then scored a converted try in both the 30th and 35th minute and half time came with the score at 12-19.

The second half belonged to H&F 1 penalty and 2 tries (one converted) to Hove’s solitary penalty to take the final score to 15-34 and a pass to the next round for H&F.
