Won 19-10

The match against Sittingbourne started badly from a Hove perspective with Roger Windsor being replaced due to a knee injury after two minutes, Nick Allen was replaced after another three minutes through an ankle injury, following a collapsed scrum.

The match then opened up with both sides having chances, until Paul Hopkins scored a try by the right corner flag to give Hove a 5-0 lead after 30 mins. Three minutes later Matt Wilson scored a try which was converted by Adam Phillips to take Hove’s half time lead to 12-0.

Half way through the second half Sittingbourne scored an unconverted try to take the score to 12-5. Both sides then had chances with Sittingbourne reducing the deficit to 12-10 with another unconverted try, eight minutes from the end of the match.

Hove started to apply pressure and in the last minute of the game, James Finlason scored a captain’s Try, duly converted by Adam Phillips making the final score to 19-10.
