The League match against Eastbourne started brightly with Hove scoring an unconverted Try by Rupert Pratt after 10 mins and a solo try and conversion by Adam Phillips.

In the final minute of the first half Eastbourne scored a converted try to take the half time score to 12-7 in Hove’s favour.

The second half started with Eastbourne converting a penalty after fifty minutes to take the score to 12-10. Hove scored an unconverted try via Tom Le Mehaute after 58 mins 17-10. Eastbourne responded with a converted try after 68mins bringing the scores level at 17-17.

Eastbourne were awarded a penalty five metres from Hove’s line in the last minute of the game. They took the penalty quickly, to score the winning try and hence the game at 22-17.

A disappointing result all round for Hove, who had the game within their grasp to go top of the League.
