This game was one that Hove will want to forget. It started lively but after a series of mistakes by both sides CP scored a converted try 7-0. Just after the half hour mark CP scored an unconverted try 12-0, followed by another unconverted try on the stroke of Half Time, making the H/T score 17-0.

As Hove were planning to reduce the difference, now playing downhill, CP scored a ‘killer’ try in the first minute of the second half taking the score to 24-0. A later unconverted try and a penalty as the last kick of the ‘match’ saw Charlton Park run out deserving winners 32-0.

What chances Hove created were not taken and it will be a game Hove players and supporters will want to erase from memory.
