Hove got off to a good start with Tom Le Mehaute skipping over for an early try after two minutes – duly converted by Adam Phillips. This scoreline was doubled when Adam converted his own try two minutes later and Hove were 14 to the good with only 4 minutes gone.
Burgess Hill got on the board with a penalty in the 8th minute but Hove got back their 14 point advantage 10 minutes later with Adam scoring a penalty. Dom “The Gazelle” Henderson wrong footed the opposition with a 30 metre dash after 23 minutes to get the front row represented on the score sheet. Adam duly converted.
The first half came to a close with a further penalty by Adam taking the score to 27-3.The second half proved to be even more one sided with Hove coming out on top by 38 unanswered points.
Tries to James Finlason, Adam Phillips and John Medhurst (42, 43 and 63 minutes respectively) all being converted by Adam, were followed by an unconverted brace from Rupert Pratt (68 and 76 mins).
Final points were a try scored by Tom in the 79th converted by Martin Lovell (sub).
