Playing Highlights

Sadly, no actual scores again this season – just the fixtures. However – the sharp eyed amongst you will notice the word “League” against 10 of the fixtures and this is clearly the start of League Rugby by the RFU (or Division/County). I don’t know what league we started in and I don’t know where we finished in it. I will try and find out but if you know then please contact us.

Club Highlights

Peter Allen, C. Hughes and J. Knuckey were all elected to the Vice Presidential congregation. Eric Marchant was missing from the list and so presumed passed.

I should note that Mr. Knuckey is listed a G in the VP list but as Jeff in the Officers list – so J it is…

The following non-playing changes were made:

• Assistant Secretary was not listed again this year and so I have removed it.
• The role of Membership Secretary listed last year has now been filled by A.F. Symons.
• Jim Hannaford replaced D. Mottershead as Hon. Assistant Treasurer
• I. Jungius replaced I. Archer as Hon. Schools Secretary
• The Bar Manager position was removed from the Officers.
• The Social Secretary position wasn’t listed and the Social Committee seems to have gone as well
• A new position of Chairman of Selection Committee and was filled by Colin Lucas
• The role of Forward Planning Officer was unlisted and has been removed
• R Griffin replaced Jim Hannaford as Secretary of the 200 Club
• Hon. Dinner Secretary after 1 year was now a TBA – I did wonder…
• Similarly with Hon Fund Raising Officer – TBA
  • Under 14 Coaches – new position filled by Pete Small
  • Under 12 Coaches – Eddy Sears took over from Mike Spencer Smith
  • Under 11 Coaches – Jeff Knuckey took over from Stuart Hartshorn and Jim Ede
  • Under 10 Coaches – Ken Watkins took over from Jeff Knuckey and Dave Barton
  • Under 9 Coaches – TBA still
  • Under 8 Coaches – Paul Gibbon took over from David Hughes

• The following Playing Changes were made:
• Nick Baxter took over as 1s Captain from Pete Allen
• John Hutchison took over as A Captain from Tim Burnage
• Rick Walker took over from C. Brown as Yeomen Captain
• M. Corcoran took over from Rick Walker as Beefeaters Captain.
