Club Highlights

Rick Betts and R.W. Griffin were both elected to the Vice Presidential congregation.

The following non-playing changes were made:

• Assistant Secretary was not listed again this year and so I have removed it.
• The role of Membership Secretary listed last year has now been filled by A.F. Symons.
• D. Mottershead replaced G.R. Philpott as Hon. Assistant Treasurer
• C. Ruszala replaced Mick Cleary as Press Officer
• G.J.L. Gordon replaced A. Blackburn as Chairman of the Clubhouse Administration Committee
• M. Williamson replaced Ray Bowyer as House Manager
• A new position of Chairman of Selection Committee and was filled by Colin Lucas
• The role of Forward Planning Officer was unlisted and has been removed
• Jim Hannaford replaced Jeremy Cartland as Secretary of the 200 Club
• New roles were assigned:
  • Tour Manager filled by M. Hollingdale
  • Hon. Dinner Secretary J. Standing
• The following Playing Changes were made:
  • Tim Burnage took over as A Captain from P.T. Fryer
  • C. Brown took over from T.E. Piotrowski as Yeomen Captain
  • Rick Walker took over from C. Brown as Beefeaters Captain.

    I do wonder about the sense of including Vice Captains when you don’t have a full set and I must also express my surprise at the role of “Hon. Dinner Secretary”. I wonder what the role description is and I wonder how long it will last.
