Club Highlights
There were a total of seven new Vice Presidents elected to the congregation which is as many as I can remember in one year. No-one was missing from the list.
Elected:
- E. Bignell

- C.R. Gibson
- M.W.G. de St. Croix
- G. Schaverien
A total of six non Playing changes this year in what turns out to be a season of change:
- Firstly, Brian Hill stepped down as Chairman of the GC and Graham Gordon took over
- Ian Jungius took over as Hon. Press Officer from R. Bowyer (Biggles)
- J.W. Carr took over as Sussex County Representative from R.J. Lewis
- B.G. Dearson took over as Hon. Personnel Officer from J.B. Cartland
- The Development Committee along with its Secretary was disbanded – the move to the new bulding now 4 years in the past
- A.E. Woodthorpe took over as Hon. Auditor from S. Ohly
I must admit I’m sorry to see S. Ohly go as for the last 20 or 21 handbooks his name has been constant and I haven’t had to type it in more than once.
Six playing changes this year – and it looks like the Captains are being removed from the book and, if so, I will follow suit. Next seasons handbook has a different format:
- M. Cleary took over Captaincy of the 1s from I.J. Jungius
- O. Cater took over Captaincy of the ‘A’s from M.J. Markes
- M.J. Markes took over the vacant captaincy of the Yeomen
- C.N. Basley took over Captaincy of the ‘A’s from G.H. Marples – Basley? Promoted? Surely not…
- R.A. Betts took over Captaincy of the Colts from N.W.J. Brown
The ‘B’s did not exist this year and I note that the title Team Secretary has been dropped and people are just Captains now.
