Club Highlights

Brian Hill was elected to become an Honorary Life Vice President and Tony Abrahams and Graham Gordon were both elected as Vice Presidents. J.W.I. Jenkin stood down as a Trustee of the Club.

The following non Playing changes were made:

• Graham Gordon took over as Assistant Secretary from Ian Stone
• P.R. Smith took over as Hon. Press Officer from Jeremy Cartland
• R. Crabb took over as Hon. Schools Secretary from A. Melchert
• Jeremy Cartland took over as Hon. Personnel Officer from Mike de St. Croix
• Three posts were merged into one with the following all becoming the rather grandly titled Chairman of the Clubhouse Administration Committee – and Graham “Gannet” Gordon was elevated to this lofty height. I applaud the rationalisation
  • Secretary Bar Committee – was J. McCormack
  • House Manager – was M.B. Gowing
  • Bar Manager – was P.J. Bonner

Playing changes were:

• Once again the dithering over Club Captain resurfaced and the role was back combined with the 1st XV Captain. So Graham French took over both roles from Jeremy Cartland and A.J. Melchert respectively
• The Cadets did not field a team this year
• The following additional changes were made to playing personnel
  • ‘A’s – Mike Richardson and G.L. John took over from Richard Lewis and C. Gibson
  • Yeomen – P.J. Seear and N. Loxton took over from R. Pell-Stevens and P.J. Seear
  • Beefeaters – Brian “Dolly” Dearson and R.J. Griffin took over from D.M.R. Grantham and R.J. Downes
  • ‘B’s – I. Hastie took over from W.Balthazor
