Mens 1st XV
The table below shows theresults for the season for the 1st XV. Over time I will try to capture lower XVs but it is a long job – so any help appreciated.
Sadly – very few actual results for this year and just an indication of W/L/D for most, if not all, of the games.

Club Highlights
This year saw two new VPs appointed when George Fawcett and F. Patching were honoured and one more presumanly passed. W.Q. McLarnon was one of the earlier Trustees of the Club but he stepped down from that in 1963-1964.
Question: Is F. Patching the same person a F.A.W. Patching who had been House and Wine Secretary for several years?
Another year of change in the Committee/Officers sees the following:
- Peter (Larry to one and all) Larman replaced Richard Lewis as 1st Captain and the role of Vice-Captain in the 1s wasn’t listed.
- Gavin Gordon took over from D.H. Baldwin as Treasurer and thus relinquished the Assistant’s role giving that to D.H. Baldwin – presumably to allow some continuity.
- Larry Larman also replaced Richard as Team Secretary for the 1s, C.J. Le M. Lawrence replaced J.R. Bonner as ‘A’s Team Secretary; R.D. Burton replaced J.P. de l’Orme as Yeomen Team Secretary and D. Bonner replaced Geoff Schaverien as Colts Secretary. The role/combined role with Extra B Team Secretary doesn’t appear this year.
- Similar movements occurred in the Captaincies C.J. Le M. Lawrence replacing Larry in the ‘A’s and P. Claydon replacing J. Bonner as Vice. J.R Williams retained Captaincy of the Yeomen but M.K. Stuart-Williams took over VC from D.E. Stevens. D. Bonner (son of J?) is also included in a new role as Colts XV Captain.
- P.A. Lancaster took over from M.K. Stuart-William as Social Secretary
- The first mention of the donor of most of the hand books sees Graham James Low Gordon (brother of Gavin Henry Osborne Gordon) appear at Assistant Secretary; Schools Secretary sees D.J. Wilson take over the reins from George Fawcett and C.W. Wilson adds the role of Sussex County rep to his Press Office duties.
