Mens 1st XV
The table below shows theresults for the season for the 1st XV. Over time I will try to capture lower XVs but it is a long job – so any help appreciated.
Sadly – no actual results for this year and just an indication of W/L/D for some of the games.
It is worth pointing out that on 22/10/1960 at the Greyhoud Stadium on Nevill Road, the Southern Counties played South Africa. I may be able to find out the score and, quite possibly, a copy of the programme and, if I do, I will update accordingly.

Below we have scans of the menu for the Club Ball. It seems to have been customary to get signatures of the guests – at least that’s what George Fawcett used to do – as this was his menu copy. This year the ball was set in honour of Jon Boreham who was one of the founder members of the Club.

Club Highlights
No changes to the Vice Presidents from 1959-1960 but the following changes to the Officers:
- Derek Hunnisett takes over as 1st XV Captain from George Fawcett and J.A. Coe as Vice-Captain from D. Baldwin
- R.W.R Thomas picks up the Social reins from R.A.H. Davis
- The Extra ‘A’ team is formed and Pat Trantom and C.J. Le M. Lawrence become the first Captain and Vice Captain
- No ‘B’ team presumably because of the above.
- A.L. Abrahams takes over as Assistant Secretary and Treasurer from R.W.R Thomas
- Gerry Woodage takes over the Schools work from C.P. Lungley
- Gerry Woodage joins Ian Stone and both represent the Club at Sussex
