Playing Highlights
The table below shows the results for the season for the 1st XV. Over time I will try to capture lower XVs but it is a long job – so any help appreciated. I make the following comments:
- 33 games played
- A second Boxing Day win on the bounce over Brighton of – this time only 16-0 must have warmed the hearts
- Games still played on 24/12, 26/12, 31/12 as well as Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Easter Monday – so no Christmas or Easter shutdown

Club Highlights
What seems to be the end of season musical chairs was evident even at this early time and seems to be a feature of the early Club days. Maybe in those days there were so many people all willing to volunteer they wanted to ensure everyone had a turn. But who knows? If you do then please let me know.
- The Chairmanship of the General Committee was handed from W.Q. McLarnon to Wing Commander J. Lawson C.B.E., R.A.F.
- Treasurer went from W.G. MacGregor to B.J. Griffith
- Team Secretary went from P.E. Savery to D.L. Shepherd
- House and Wine went from P.E. Savery to J.W.I. Jenkin
- The Assistant Secretary and Assistant Treasurer posts were combined into one with Ian Stone picking up both
On the playing side the following moves occurred:
- The Captain of the Club went from R. Bazeley-White to D.L. Shepherd.
- P.F.J. Lowe handed the ‘A’ XV baton to P.E. Savery

The VP Congregation had the following changes
- Three new VPs
- J.H.R. Boreham

- F. Stevens
- And one missing from the list – presumably passed
