Playing Honours
The following changes were noted:
- T.G. Winkworth took over from J.H.R. Boreham as Club Captain
- G.P. Laws took over from T.G. Winkworth as Club Vice Captain
- J. Shelton took over from J.E. Rhatigan as “A” XV Vice Captain
- C.P. Lungley – the bastion of the Selection Committee made his first appearance on said committee.

Page 7 of the Club Handbook for this year has us with a different “Temporary Club Headquarters” at the Sussex County Cricket Ground in Eaton Road Hove.

Club Honours
The following people were elected as Vice Presidents at the AGM at the end of 1952-1953:
- B.J. Griffith
- Wg./Cdr. J. LAwson OBE RAF
- R.C. Pascoe JP
- R. Norris Rothwell
The following name no longer appeared on the list of VPs and we must assume that he had passed:
- Alderman Capt. A.B. Wales J.P., M.C.
Additionally, there were the following non playing Office changes:
- R.A. Edwards took over from J.E. Rhatigan as Fixture Secretary
- J.H.R. Boreham took over from D.L. Shepherd as Team Secretary
- New positions
- G.P. Laws became the inaugural Social Secretary
- J.H.R. Boreham and R.A. Edwards became the inaugural County Representatives.
- G.P. Thomson became the inaugural Centre Representative (just what this is – I have no idea!)
- R.F. Clark became the inaugural Press Officer
